4 starsThis was a very enjoyable story. I liked both Kyle and Sebastian...even if Kyle was a bit hard to like at first.Sebastian is Italian and the son of a wealthy businessman. His father has made his disappointment with Sebastian clear and prefers Sebastian's older brother, planning to pass on the family business to him. Sebastian is fine with this and is happy to go to Harvard to study advanced mathematics as long as he can.Kyle is a secret agent that does whatever is needed to carry out his missions. Kyle grew up in a big family and was the smallest and weakest of the boys. He strove hard to beef up and become physically able to join the police force like his father and bothers. Kyle succeeded and got into the police academy but drama happened and Kyle found himself with out a career or family...Kyle was recruited by his agency soon after.Sebastian enjoyed his new-found freedom at college a little too much and he got involved with his (male) roommate, something his father could not abide. He was forced back home where his father made it clear he's to toe the line or else! Sebastian is attending one of his father's "events" when he's approached by a very attractive man. They get along well and Sebastian gets a bit caught up in things and allows this man access to areas of the house he shouldn't have. When the man goes running off with alarms blaring and leaves Sebastian in his father's laser-beam sights, Sebastian is in a very bad place. He quickly finds out that his father is really a bad guy and he's more than willing to kill Sebastian for "disappointing him" with seemingly no remorse.Kyle thought he'd completed his mission but the compound he was sent to the mansion to pilfer ended up being a fake. Kyle wasn't happy to set up Sebastian but it's part of the job and he had to do the same kind of thing many times before. When his handler tells him that Sebastian is marked for death though, Kyle has to go save him. He tells himself that it's to get Sebastian's help in finding the location of the real compound before it's sold to terrorists but Kyle lets himself get dangerously distracted by Sebastian. Sebastian has trouble trusting Kyle at first (for completely understandable reasons) so their beginning is hot (because of their strong mutual attraction/lust) but shaky. They do learn to trust each other though and Sebastian finds that he has good instincts when it comes to staying alive. Sebastian and Kyle do manage to find the compound and stay alive, ending the story in a way that they'll be able to be together in the future...kind of a HFN with a HEA looking likely down the line.This was a very enjoyable story. I liked Sebastian as a MC. He seemed a bit weak at first but he found his backbone when it was needed and was a quick learner. I was iffy about Kyle at first because...well, he used Sebastian and pretty much set him up. I guess Kyle had to be cold and emotionless for his job but it was a bit disheartening at first. Thankfully, Kyle had too much of a soft spot for Sebastian and he couldn't be the cold jerk he normally would be. There were a few points that needed a little suspension of disbelief but it wasn't too bad. Overall, I liked the characters very much and found the story to be pretty good and engaging so I'd recommend it. :)
